Well, lineman Chris Morris had yet to touch the field as a Memphis Tiger and he has already seen enough. The former four-star Texas A&M commit has re-entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Morris made the decision to transfer to the University of Memphis back in December. Until he decided to change his mind months later.
Morris would make the decision via Twitter on Wednesday.
Morris’ Time In High School
In high school, Morris played at Freedom Prep in his junior year alongside current Memphis QB Tevin Carter. Then, Morris transferred to West Memphis High School for his senior season, graduating through PURE Academy.
Overall, he was a four-star recruit and the eighth-ranked Offensive Tackle in the 2020 class, according to On3.
Morris’ Time at Texas A&M
Morris decided to commit to Texas A&M in 2020 where he did not see any playing time on the field. Unfortunately, Morris was arrested in December of that year on charges of evading arrest with a motor vehicle and reckless driving. Morris would later enter his name into the transfer portal.
Morris’ Time at Hutchinson Community College
He then transferred to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas for the 2021 season. After one season, Morris entered the transfer portal again where he was the No. 40 JUCO prospect. Morris would sign with the University of Memphis and return to his hometown.
Morris’ Time at Memphis
Obviously, Morris would have to battle for the starting spot at tackle through spring workouts and practice. Then, it was reported in June that Morris was not shown on Memphis’ roster. Afterward, he entered his name in the portal once again.
What’s Next for Morris
Obviously, Morris has the ability and potential to pan out as a starter at a good school with his wingspan and size.
