It’s finally Missouri week. The Memphis Tigers (3-0) will take a trip up to St. Louis, Missouri for a pseudo road game against the Missouri Tigers (3-0).

This was supposed to be a home game at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, but Missouri bought out the initial contract and got the game moved to St. Louis.

So now, Memphis must face the most talented team it’ll face all year inside The Dome at America’s Center.

Missouri Breakdown

The Eliah Drinkwitz-led Missouri Tigers are coming off a statement win over No. 15 Kansas State.

The Tigers won the game off of a 61-yard field goal from kicker Harrison Mevis as time ran out. Needless to say, Missouri should have some real confidence going into this game.

Luther Burden III

If you are wondering what makes Missouri go, then look no further than Luther Burden III.

This guy is an absolute stud. Burden has 22 receptions, 327 yards and 3 touchdowns through three games.  He also boasts a very solid 14.9 yards per catch.

Burden should be the No. 1 guy in the Tigers’ game plan to focus on stopping. Not to mention, he is from St. Louis. There should be no shortage of motivation for Burden Saturday.

Defense is experienced and good

Missouri returned 80% of its defensive production from last year, which was already a pretty good unit.

The Tigers come into this game giving up just 18 points per contest so far this season. If Memphis wants to come out victorious Saturday night, the offense has to be much more consistent than it’s shown through three games.

Brady Cook Questionable

Yesterday, reports started to come out that Missouri quarterback Brady Cook, who just had the best game of his career against Kansas State, could be questionable.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel said this, “Source: Missouri starting quarterback Brady Cook is questionable for Saturday’s game against Memphis in St. Louis. He’s dealing with the lingering effects of a knee issue from a hit he took in the Kansas State game.”

This is obviously an interesting development. If Cook doesn’t play, that could increase Memphis’ chances of winning significantly.

Game Prediction

Memphis- 35 Missouri- 31

I think the situation is just perfect for Memphis to come out with a win.

Brady Cook is hurt. Whether he plays or not, he will still be hobbled. Missouri is coming off a huge win over a top 15 team. It’s the perfect spot for a letdown. Give me Memphis in this one.
