Nae’Qwan Tomlin‘s impressive performance at the G-League Elite Camp has earned him a coveted invitation to the NBA Draft Combine.

Like Kendric Davis before him, who earned a call-up following a standout performance at the G-League Elite Camp, Tomlin now has increased visibility and direct exposure to NBA teams and personnel.

Tomlin was seen as one of the Big 12’s most intriguing prospects during his time at Kansas State. While having a solid half of a season at Memphis, Tomlin is not currently on any major analysts’ draft boards.

Over the past two days, 45 prospects have showcased their skills at the G League Elite Camp. The event features the prospects divided into four teams, each playing once per day.

Tomlin initially started for his team at the beginning of the camp. However, after a relatively quiet performance, he would move to the bench on day two. It was on the second day that Tomlin truly shone, demonstrating not only his talents but also his energy and motor.

Coming off the bench, Tomlin made a significant impact, scoring 16 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and contributing a steal and a block.

Catching the attention of scouts, Tomlin would be one of five players called up to the NBA Draft Combine. That list of players also includes former Tiger Boogie Ellis.

Now receiving a call-up, Tomlin will join his former teammate David Jones in Chicago for the following week.

Despite lacking a current projection for the 2024 NBA Draft, Tomlin’s skill set could easily draw interest from NBA franchises. Expected to play the wing at the next level, improvements on the perimeter could help him compete for roster spots.

Factors such as age and not playing a full season may be hindering his current draft stock.
