It was all Adonis Thomas today in Charles Koch Arena, as he helped the Beale Street Boys (Memphis) take down the Broad Street Birds (Temple) 73-67.

Thomas led the way with 19 points, Chris Crawford had 12 and Jeremiah Martin pitched in 11 as the Boys outlasted the Birds.

Adonis Thomas

Thomas, a former McDonald’s All-American and Memphis star, lead the way for the Memphis alumni today. He scored 19 points on a very efficient 8-15 shooting including 3-5 from the three-point line.

Thomas came up big when it seemed like the tide was turning in the Broad Street Birds favor, he stepped up and hit the game winning shot, securing them the Elam Ending win.

The Elam Ending rule is a special rule in the TBT tournament. Basically, teams end the game by playing to a target score. With 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter, they will set a certain number for each team to play to.

Hot Start

The Memphis alumni came out to a scorching hot start today. Lead by Martin and Thomas, the Beale Street Boys jumped out to a 19-point lead in the first half. Building off of the hot start, Memphis went into the break up 46-32.

Tough Third Quarter for Beale Street

As well as the Beale Street Boys played in the first half, it all evaporated very quickly in the second.

Former Temple star Quinten Rose had 10 points in the quarter as the Broad Street Birds went on a massive run.

All of a sudden, the Beale Street Boys found themselves only up three at the end of the third. The lead had been trimmed to just 58-55 in favor of the Memphis alumni.

Crunch Time

Without a doubt, the tide had turned in the favor of Broad Street after the third quarter. But the Boys from Beale Street were not to be denied.

Big crunch-time points from Thomas and Crawford sealed the win for the Memphis Alumni.
